Using Nature's Power for Chicago Energy
Gov. Rod Blagojevich has pledged to have nearly a quarter of the state's 4.6 million households powered by renewable energy by 2010. One step ready to be made.

City Fire Author Sets Blaze of Own
"A local author who has written books detailing famous Chicago fires (and this link!) has been charged with setting a fire of his own last week at St. Benedict Church on the city's North Side" Guess this is one crazy way to drum up book sales.

Let's start by saying we love NewCity.
Every week we love picking it up for the train ride home on Weds. night. It is the perfect quick, informative read and has a special place in FlowFeel's heart. To the point articles, great cover pics and Hype Exchange are just sweet. But the time has come to pick a beef. Merely a solo issue until recently, until the paper was grabbed as we scurried out of Pick Me Up Cafe with the stiff black to-go in one hand and our NewCity in tow. Then it happened, something slowly slide out and crashed to the street - it hit like a slap in the face - an insert - a cd insert for AOL. I was crushed. NewCity how could you. Pumping your paper and readers with that garbage. That's a Redeye trick, but nothing you should have stooped to for a buck. Ok, i know you are a big company in a respect, but that doesn't mean you have to bully us with these junk discs. In the future please do not subject us to this. Now the original complaint that had been left alone until jarred loose by the AOL cd - upgrade that website! NewCity has great content and needs a site to match. Ok, enough bitchin'. Now back to those covers...

Finally! FlowFeel loves NewCity, UR and the Reader - but one of the biggest negatives against these cats is their websites - just last week one of 'em changed! The Reader spices it up in pdf.
Cover story - Why is this man jumping off the MCA?

A strip-club education
Head-banging music. Flashing colored spotlights. Mirrors, red velvet and lots of women-- topless or about to be. What can you learn? We think we all can learn a little something from everything. But a gentleman's club? Degrading to women? A waste of $? Find out if time spent gawking at hot-nekked bods can teach you anything.

Sounds from the Music Geek Ghetto

Rhino will give us a box set soon
Bringing back the era of parachute-pant-rappers, grunge music's beginning, bedroom beatmakers, and the female rock rebellion, Rhino bridges the musical divides with the July 26 release of the definitive decade compilation, WHATEVER: THE '90s POP CULTURE BOX.

If ya love us for anything make it the free shit!
A mad wad of free streams from just kicked albums - Spoon, Oasis, Four Tet, Party Animals, Malkmus, and more ~

For art sake - 5 to see
"The following shows have little in common, other than the fact that they sound a little spicy, and stray a little from the (generally unfairly) stereotypical, pinkie-in-your air art experience."

An Interview with Billy Corgan you probably haven't read
It's rumbling, low, and menacing, and cruising through a posh Chicago suburb like a shark. Kids are right to get out of its path -- they hear it coming and hastily ka-bomp their bikes up onto the curb to give it some street space...

The Floyd to Return - Yes it's true Pink Floyd to reunite for Live 8.
First time on stage together since '81!

Chicago well represented on creative reality TV
Amy, Jeff, and Tommy of the new show The Cut all call the Midwest Gotham home. Add these names to HB owners on The Next Food Network Stars and the Windy drops more names on the Boob Tube. The Cut features "16 aspiring designers who will attempt various challenges that will test their talent, business acumen, sales and marketing expertise, resourcefulness and sense of style. Living together in a loft in Soho, New York, competitors will have to confront the complexity of the fashion industry-and each other." FlowFeel missed the 1st episode, but can image 16 fashion divas all together - meow! - egos abound.
