Beer drinking falls off
Well it may not seem that way, but the swill ain't what it used to be. Today there are so many choices in alcoholic beverages - beyond beer - flavored vodkas and clear malt liquors - it is no wonder people aren't downing the booze. Add to that weight watching and increased wine interest and you have a real hops and barley crisis. Even though beer drinking may be down - i suspect the tipping back alcohol is higher than ever.
